I’m a School Health Assistant, Band 3. Whilst the schools are closed I’ve been working from home tidying up my files and doing Admin work on our System 1. However, today I received a phone Call to say I am being redeployed to a Bedded Unit who have confirmed Covid 19 patients. I am non-clinical and have an 84 yr old Mother I am carer to, 2 small children and a Father in Law with chronic COPD - I was told on the phone that my Mum is not vulnerable, and as I do not live with my father in law I am no risk to him (I do his shopping though). They didn’t care about my situation. I have never worked in a bedded unit doing discharge administrative tasks. I was told not to talk to other staff about this and to await the email with details. It would be frowned upon if I didn’t go but I do not think it is wise to send me into a unit that has confirmed cases to do Admin ??? I have been ‘mucking’ in whilst WFH by doing our Team admin to support another colleague. Any help or advice would be appreciated.
