The SIM project was set up by an ex police officer who had experienced significant mental health issues, and was a great success because it differentiated patients who knew exactly what they were doing when they behave in antisocial ways from those that do not ( they have mental capacity).

The way the NHS has allowed him to be hounded by mental health industry is a shameful indictment of the clinical leadership and complete lack of evidence in mental health.

The only thing we hear from the mental health industry is ‘give us more money!’ but when there is no concept of responsibility for spending money effectively. And when an intervention like SIM comes along that is both clinically and financially effective, instead of working to improve it, they sabotage it.
