I am a huge fan of doing it once centrally and using it many times locally and this makes a lot of sense. Every year, every ICB and Provider in the country updates their formulary for changes in national price "excluded drugs". Can always then have local adaptions if needed but local time and effort goes into implementation and local adaptions, a much better use of their time.

And if a drug or device is no longer value for money then it makes perfect sense to no longer mandate it. In an environment where everyone is looking to save money we should be putting effort into what the NHS no longer does.
