I strongly support the principle of streamlining processes and reducing duplication. However, my primary concern with the implementation of a Single National Formulary is the availability of medicines. The UK's supply chain is already fragile, with frequent stockouts driven by rising global demand. Without a robust delivery and supply plan in place, there is a real risk that medicine shortages—or price inflation due to supply pressures—could outweigh the intended efficiencies of a Single National Formulary.
