Sorry, but LIFT building was not effective at bringing in investment, it was effective at bringing in revenue for the investors, with clear incentives for all concerned to over spec the building, lead to rents too high for anyone to move into them.

In Birmingham alone there are two largely empty farcically expensive LIFT buildings surrounded by GP practices in premises that are not fit for purpose and costing the NHS a fortune.

There are also rumours of local LIFT directors blocking applications from local pharmacies to move in then setting up their own.

Either story is worthy of an HSJ article perhaps...
