I, Rachel Davis would like to respond to the reader about their comments. This article was written before the changes to the FFT were announced. My findings provide support for the fact that the scoring method of the FFT should be changed as HCPs (like the general public and other groups as shown in Ipsos MORI’s research) find the NPS scoring method ‘illogical’ and ‘misleading’. I am currently on maternity leave and this article had been planned for publication for a couple of months. The day before this article went to press NHS England announced the changes so HSJ added a sentence in the article on this to reflect the change in current policy. Therefore at the time this article was written it was neither outdated nor worthless.
