According to the figures published by HSCIC, Graeter Manchester has the lowest £/weighted patient funding for general practice in England (£110 vs £136), and the CCGs have not been approved for level 3 co-commissioning - which would have allowed co-commissioning of general practice - including ability to commission new practices.

I agree that shortage of funding is likely to cause problems, so is there any information as yet on how the budget will be set - or even whether the quoted £6bn will be the final figure? Other headline sums have partially evaporated before implementation e.g. the Tech Fund 2.

Another issue may be relations with surrounding CCGs, LATs - and LAs - with patients/citizens complaining with some justification about post-code lotteries! ;-<
