PERFORMANCE: The number of falls at the Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases Foundation Trust tripled during February, compared with the previous month.

A total of 12 falls occurred in the trust, compared to four in January and against a target of five falls with no adverse incident a month.

A report to the board reveals two patients on neuro rehabilitation have fallen four times while rheumatology has one patient who has fallen several times. All patients have been subject to regular timed checks while the rheumatology patient was provided with specialist equipment.

None of the falls resulted in injury to the patient and there were no adverse incidents at the trust during the month.
