COMMERCIAL: Salisbury Foundation Trust has won a contract to provide sexual health services across southern Wiltshire.

The three and a half year contract will begin in October and is one of three put to tender by Wiltshire Council.

A council spokeswoman declined to give the value of the trust’s contract as the process for awarding the other two contracts is still under way and due to be completed by September.

A trust spokesman said: “This tender involves the development of a community-based service with satellite clinics in Amesbury, Warminster and Tidworth.

“We already provide hospital based services at Salisbury District Hospital and also a clinic in the Central Health Clinic in Salisbury.”

Separately, the trust has appointed Lorna Wilkinson as its director of nursing. Ms Wilkinson was formerly the deputy director of nursing at Portsmouth Hospitals Trust.

She was previously head of risk management at Salisbury, between 2004 and 2009 before moving to Portsmouth.
