PERFORMANCE: The number of operations cancelled on the day of surgery at Salisbury Foundation Trust rose “significantly” during August due to an increased emergency workload, board papers said.

In total 1.8 per cent of finished consultant episodes were cancelled against the trust’s target of 0.7 per cent.

The report said: “The numbers of patients cancelled due to beds being unavailable or due to trauma cases impacting on elective lists increased substantially in the month.”
