FINANCE: Salisbury Foundation Trust is planning to boost income from its mortuary, its fertility service and through treating more private patients.
According to the trust’s three year forward plan, it will target plastic surgery, laser, ear nose and throat, radiology, orthopaedic and general surgery as potential growth areas during 2011-12. From 2012-13 it will begin promoting its cardiology services.
The trust plans to offer more cycles of treatment to increase income from fertility services by £120,000 this year and £100,000 in each of the following two years.
Extra forensic work and a review of charges for body storage will help the trust’s mortuary realise its full potential income, bringing in an additional £15,000 a year.
