WORKFORCE: The current chief executive of NHS Sandwell has been appointed to the top job in the Black Country primary care trust cluster.
Sandwell boss Rob Bacon has been named as chief executive of the cluster which will bring together the management of NHS Dudley, NHS Walsall and NHS Wolverhampton with Sandwell.
All PCTs have been asked to merge management teams and have shared chief executives, but they will remain independent statuatory bodies.
NHS West Midlands has appointed the chief executives who will head up the five management clusters, as regional health services continue to implement the government’s reform programme.
The appointments will provide additional leadership, support and scrutiny for future decisions affecting local NHS services.
