A partnership between Yeovil District Hospital Foundation Trust and charity the Patients Association aims to providing patients and carers with a voice to improve health services.

The trust will help to publicise and promote the Patients Association helpline and other opportunities for providing feedback on services. The association will also provide information, guidance and support to the trust at frontline, management and board level, to help it develop services, systems and ways of working, which are directly informed by the opinion of service users.

Paul Mears, chief executive of Yeovil Hospital said: “With such wide-scale change to the ways in which NHS services are managed, and more choice than ever before, we need to ensure that the experience of the individual remains at the heart of what we do. As Yeovil Hospital evolves to meet the needs of local patients this will be our priority.

“Our partnership with The Patients Association will give us an invaluable insight into the patient experience and help to make us more responsive and more accessible. Everyone at Yeovil Hospital is looking forward to making the most of this innovative relationship.”
