WORKFORCE: A senior manager at South Devon Healthcare Foundation Trust has resigned, months after its chief executive stepped down.

Adrienne Murphy, the acute trust’s director of workforce and organisational development, stepped down last week, according to a trust statement.

Her role was shared across both South Devon and Torbay and Southern Devon Health and Care Trust, which are in the process of merging. She has also left her role at Torbay.

Her resignation comes just over two months after the departure of Paula Vasco-Knight, the former chief executive at South Devon.

Ms Vasco-Knight, who was suspended after being accused of nepotism, left the trust in May.

The trust would not comment on the reasons behind Ms Murphy’s departure.

In a statement, the trust said: “[We] wish to make it clear that no payments have been made to [Ms Murphy] other than those to which she is entitled under her contract of employment.”
