STRUCTURE: There is “widespread support” for a plan to reconfigure mental health services in South Essex which is billed to save £3.5m, according to a report.
A report on the “modernisation” of rehabilitation services provided by South Esssex Partnership Foundation Trust was submitted to the South Essex primary care trust cluster’s September board meeting.
It said the plan was “to commission modern, recovery focused rehabilitation services which reduce admissions, facilitate discharge and support better clinical outcomes”.
This will involve a “mini reprovision exercise” in which “each patient will be individually assessed and supported to find accommodation which
bests meets their needs”, it said.
The report said there had been “no objections” to the proposed changes and “all comments have been supportive of the need to modernise services whilst seeking
reassurance that the reprovision would be handled sensitively and appropriately”.
