STRUCTURE: Concerns have been expressed over a poorly attended risk managment group at South West Essex PCT.
The minutes of the PCT’s 2 March board meeting said non executive director Jonathan Cope “advised that both the Audit and Integrated Governance Committees had concerns with regard to how the Business Risk Management Group (BRMG) was operating, as there had been poor attendance, particularly at the last two meetings.”
Martin Curry, head of risk, assurance and emergency planning, “confirmed that whilst risks were being discussed on a 1-1 basis with the risk lead, poor
attendance at the BRMG resulted in risks not being reviewed and discussed at a corporate level”.
The minutes note that the PCT’s Risk Management Strategy was in the process of being reviewed and in future a single project management office would take on risk managment across South West Essex and South East Essx when the two PCTs have fully clustered.
