WORKFORCE: The Southampton, Hampshire, Isle of Wight and Portsmouth primary care trust cluster is £772,000 over plan for total workforce costs.

Board papers for September revealed this was due to “double running during transition with the closure work through the PCTs and the setting up of new organisations.”

The cluster was doing better than plan from March until June. Full time equivalent staff in post was reported as being over plan  for the first time since clustering, at 5.1 FTE plans over plan.

Turnover stood at 10.7 per cent and sickness absence at 3.4 per cent – both over plan.
