PERFORMANCE: Southport and Ormskirk Hospital Trust is planning an external review of options for the ‘sustainability of the trust’, with forecasts showing deficits for both 2014-15 and 2015-16.
Trust board papers show that the Trust is forecasting a deficit of almost a £1 million for this financial year and “will not achieve a surplus for 2015-16”.
The papers state: “A recovery plan is in place for the remainder of 2014-15 and the Trust is in the process of appointing a Cost Improvement Programme director. The Trust is also working with the CCGs to commission an external review to consider options for the future sustainability of the Trust.”
