PERFORMANCE: NHS Suffolk had 13 cases of MRSA in its area by the end of February, against a year to date ceiling of 13.

Two have been at Ipswich Hospital and one at West Suffolk Hospital; the rest have been community based.

Ipswich Hospital also accounts for 143 of the 171 NHS Suffolk patients waiting longer than six weeks for diagnostic tests at the end of January.

This is partly due to a backlog in gastroscopy and colonscopy where national testing has led to increased demand. Another provider has been brought in to provide additional capacity outside normal working hours.
