PERFORMANCE: The foundation trust has ongoing difficulties with the reporting of serious incidents, according to board papers.
The trust’s latest quality committee report said: “In response to earlier concerns raised by governors and the committee, progress to improve the internal arrangements for reporting and recording adult safeguarding issues was reported [to the board].”
It noted: “The incident management report highlighted ongoing difficulties in this area.”
The board was told additional staff had been seconded to help tackle the problem.
The report also said a review of serious incident processes “should improve closure of incidents” by primary care trust, NHS Surrey, and reduce the risk of non-compliance with commissioning for quality and innovation (CQUIN) targets.
