STRUCTURE: Healthcare property group Assura Group Limited has completed the acquisition of the £3.5m Stanwell Health and Community Centre in Surrey.

The 16,145 sq ft project designed and developed by Ashley House plc, will see the St David’s Group Practice relocate from its existing premises. Space leased by Surrey PCT will be utilised by district nurses and community nursing teams. A community pharmacy will also be operating a new facility.

In addition, the three-storey building will house a library, run by Surrey County Council, along with a community run café, which is leased by Spelthorne Borough Council.

Development Manager at Assura Group, Simon Gould, said: “It is a real coup for the local community, providing GPs with state of the art premises and the resources to provide the very best level of care for patients.”

Built on the site of the former Stanwell Day Centre, the scheme was granted planning consent in 2008. It is the first of several developments that make up the “Stanwell New Start” initiative.
