FINANCE: Sussex Community NHS Trust is to receive extra government funding for new equipment, including a boiler upgrade, and the relocation of children’s services.

Prime minister David Cameron announced on 6 March that around £330m of extra funding would be spent on providing “state of the art” equipment and facilities to improve services for patients.

Sussex Community NHS Trust will be the recipient of £1.9m of this, which it is set to receive in 2012-13.

According to the Department of Health, it is scheduled to be spent on “supporting clinical service delivery at Brighton General Hospital – including relocating children’s community services, backlog maintenance and rehab centre boiler upgrade”.
