FINANCE: NHS Brighton and Hove has revised its end of year forecast to a surplus of £6.7m, around £2m more than its original plan.

The primary care trust, which is part of the Sussex cluster, originally forecast a year end surplus of £4.6m.

However, after the first four months of the financial year ending on 31 July, the PCT has revised this to £6.7m.

It has a year to date surplus of £927,000 and a total budget for 2011-12 of £478m.

Board papers said: “The reported position includes a forecast overperformance of £3.0m on the Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust contract which is currently covered by release of contingency.”
