FINANCE: Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust has thanked its staff for helping to make projected efficiency savings of around £11m this financial year.

The finance report for February said: “Despite massive challenges and the requirement to release £11m recurrently in 2010-11, we are reporting in month financial balance and hitting all our key targets.”

In a separate press statement, it was noted that chief executive Lisa Rodrigues had thanked staff at the trust’s board of directors meeting for realising “likely efficiency savings” of around £11m by 31 March.

She said: “While clinical and professional excellence are our core goals, it is important to recognise the significant achievements of all our staff – clinical and support teams – in keeping our costs under control.

“Everyone should be congratulated for helping the Trust keep in balance this month.”
