FINANCE: Six out of seven of Swindon primary care trust cluster’s QIPP workstreams were rated amber by NHS South of England in September.

The QIPP tracker said the position was improved from the previous month but there was limited detail in some initiatives and a risk from over performance in activity. The document said delays to the introduction of an ambulatory care unit may impact on savings while planned savings in mental health could be greatly impacted by a small number of expensive out of area placements.

“Internal process for monitoring delivery has been strengthened. Swindon is a small team and capacity may have affected the standard of reporting,” the report said.
