FINANCE: The foundation was over-performing on its NHS Tameside and Glossop contract by £3.6m at the end of December, the primary care trust’s latest finance report shows.

The overspend was up from £2.1m in the previous month.

The PCT attributed the increase to a range of factors, including delays to a tele-health programme which would reduce the savings it produced in 2010-11.

Other reasons cited were “the inclusion of financial risk attributable to the change in coding for certain procedures” and “additional investment to prevent breaches of the 18 week patient pathway which has been detrimentally affected due to winter pressures”.
