FINANCE: The Christie Foundation Trust had a surplus of £4.9m at the end of December - £1.6m ahead of plan.

A report to the board revealed that unachieved cost improvement plans were more than offset by planned pay vacancies and the trust was only paying 0.59 per cent of its total pay bill in agency costs. A year end contract settlement is already in place between the trust and its commissioners, covering activity, finance, key performance indicators and CQUINs.
