STRUCTURE: Patients needing planned angioplasty will soon be able to have it at Ipswich Hospital, rather than having to travel to a region centre.
The trust’s bid for £5m capital funding for the development has been approved by the Department of Health and the service could be in place as early as next year.
Patients needing emergency angioplasty will still need to travel to a regional centre.
A business case for he development will now go to NHS Midlands and East.
