PERFORMANCE: Delayed transfers of care rates have improved at Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals FT.
The trust is missing the national target of 3.5 per cent year to date with a rate of 4.6 per cent. However, in December this improved to 3.3 per cent.
A report to the board notes that “helpful support from social services around weekend working” and a full time social worker based on the winter ward during the week who can review patients on an hourly basis has improved the rate.
Of 61 delayed discharges in December, 33 were for health reasons while 28 were down to social services.
