Care Quality Commission chief executive David Behan and Department of Health finance director David Williams are the latest leading figures to be named as judges for the 2016 HSJ Awards.

They will be joined by CQC chief inspector of general practice Professor Steve Field and NHS England director of commissioning strategy Ian Dodge.

Previous judges announced include National Institute of Health and Care Excellence chair David Haslam and Salford Royal Foundation Trust chief executive Sir David Dalton.

Other NHS trust chief executives joining the judging line-up include Sheffield Teaching Hospitals FT’s Sir Andrew Cash and Nottingham University Hospitals Trust’s Peter Homa.

All this year’s HSJ Awards categories will have a patient representative on the judging panel. Among the latest judges to join include British Kidney Patient Association policy director Fiona Loud and Our Diabetes patient leader David Cragg.

The 35th HSJ Awards are the country’s largest celebration of excellence in NHS care. The awards will be judged over the summer and presented in November.
