WORKFORCE: A Care Quality Commission inspection of University Hospitals Bristol Foundation Trust flagged concerns the trust did not have sufficient staff.

July’s trust board papers note the unannounced inspection “flagged areas of compliance risk” with outcome 13, which requires providers to have sufficient staff to meet patients needs, but said the issues were being addressed.

Minutes from the previous meeting reveal the trust held vacancies for three months earlier this year while it carried out a consultation to review nurse numbers per bed and shift patterns. This work is now completed and the trust is recruiting to all vacancies.
