COMMERCIAL: Primary care trusts in the South East Coast region aim to have signed a new contract for provision of home oxygen services by June.

NHS West Sussex and other PCTs in the region are currently in the process of jointly re-procuring home oxygen services.

Latest West Sussex board papers state: “The board is asked to note that NHS East Sussex Downs and Weald is the lead PCT for the NHS South East Coast home oxygen service re-procurement and that, following appointment of suppliers to the national framework, invitations to tender for this contract have been issued on Monday 28th March 2011.”

The board papers note that invitations to tender to the national framework were issued in July 2010, with five bidders appointed in December.

Following the regional invitation to tender issued on 28 March, the closing date was set as 15 April with evaluation of tenders taking place between 18 April and 27 May.

The PCT plans to issue intention to award letters to bidders on 17 June and finalise the contract award on 30 June.
