FINANCE: A software package that advises GPs when chepaer alternative drugs are available had saved NHS Wiltshire £708,000 as of the end of October.
January’s finance report revealed the savings had been made across the county’s three CCGs, although there was a degree of variation.
WWYKD, which had the largest forecast prescribing budget at £22.5m, had underpsent by more than £390,000 during the period.
SARUM, which had a forecast budget of £18.8m underspent by about £214,000.
However, North and East Wiltshire CCG which has a budget of £21.6m, saved only £103,000.
