A statement says: “A group of thirty newly-qualified nurses have all been given jobs on wards and departments in Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust hospitals.

“The nurses completed their three-year degree and diploma courses and they started a six-month preceptorship programme with the Trust last week. The preceptorship programme helps nurses make the transition from university to nursing in a busy hospital.

“The new recruits will work in hospitals across the Trust and for the first time new nurses have been appointed to community hospitals in Northumberland.”
