RDASH training Kent MH trust in nutrition service

COMMERCIAL: Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber Mental Health Foundation Trust has been commissioned to deliver training in nutrition for young people who have experienced their first episode of psychosis to Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust.

Kevin Williamson, a senior nutritionist in early intervention in psychosis, developed the service at RDASH. which are run by Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH).

The service looks at their diet in relation to their illness and tries to provide a healthier alternative. It drew praise from the government’s food and health forum, which recommended that other NHS trusts adopt a similar approach to RDaSH. The trust has also developed the training course, which will be employed in Kent and Medway to help developed similar services.
