PERFORMANCE: Monitor has imposed an amber-red governance rating on Southern Health Foundation Trust after it broke rules on governor terms of office.

The trust would otherwise have been amber-green, following a Care Quality Commission inspection.

Board papers for June said: “Monitor has decided that an override to amber-red will be applied to the trust’s governance risk rating to reflect the breaches in the constitution through having extended elected governors terms of office.”

The trust expected the issue to be resolved in August.
