Oxfordshire in £23m overspend on acute trust

FINANCE: Oxfordshire primary care trust had overspent on its contract with Oxford University Hospitals Trust by more than £23m in the first 10 months of 2011-12.

Board papers reveal the commissioner overspent on its Oxford Radcliffe Trust contract by £21.5m, and by £1.6m on its contract with the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre.

The two trusts merged to form Oxford University Hospitals Trust during 2011.
