NHS Wandsworth

NHS Wandsworth predicting year-end surplus

FINANCE: A south-west London PCT is predicting a surplus of £5.4m.

Its finance report said the money would be carried forward “into 2011/12 and used non-recurrently.”

But the draft paper said the trust had experienced pressures “primarily in acute but also in non acute areas of spend. This pressure is mainly reflected in elective outpatients, drugs and devices, non-elective and continuing care.

“This has resulted in the PCT maintaining its position to plan through the use of its reserves and through the suspension of investment and other planned expenditure.”
