Good article Alistair. I think I can honestly say that all of the facets of leadership that have made NICE a success have been wholly absent from informatics. Obviously, it's not directly comparable, but in informatics we've now had a series of leaders imported from the private sector who have failed to establish a clear vision, manage scope or manage the relationship with the DH and wider NHS effectively. No surprise that both Dillon and Rawlins are old NHS hands.
