Its not a yes or a no ... and it depends on how you shape the debate. Is Tesco a successful "retailer" (remember everyone is selling something folks) or a successful global business managing multiple supply chains, partnerships, competition (it is here) and a myriad of other resources to deliver a profit; its both of course.

So the question becomes, what do you want to learn. If its supply chain management and other principles of commerce (not just finance) then it would be a resounding yes (just look at the current procurement initiative announced by Dan Poulter).

Of course NHS providers can (and should) learn ... I think by the time many of them grasp this it will be too late.
