HSJ and Nursing Times have asked NHS staff about their NHS Change Day pledges for 2015 and what they feel can be improved about the day

In this the video Former health minister Lord Darzi argues that “change should be a part of any health system”.

“We need more people to change, we need more practitioners in healthcare to change, we need more managers to change, we need the leadership to embrace change to keep up with the everyday demand that is facing us in the NHS,” he said.

HSJ also heard from the frontline staff about what pledges they had made last year and how they benefitted their patients and colleagues.

A ward sister at Nottingham Children’s Hospitals Trust explained how she was able to change the culture within her team by ensuring that the nurses on her team all took their breaks on time.

In this third video Stephen Dorrell argues that Change Day needs to focus on encouraging people to take responsibility for their own well being and health, while a theatre nurse, also at Nottingham University Hospitals Trust talks about her team’s pledges for NHS Change Day last year and the impact their work has had.
