Regulator finds good care at Nottingham University Hospitals

However, the regulator found deficiencies relating to equipment maintenance and staff training which it said the trust must remedy.

The CQC visited Nottingham University Hospitals in November and December as part of its revised inspection programme.

During the inspection it discovered that “the vast majority of people said they had positive experiences of care at the trust” and that staff and trainee doctors “felt well supported”.

David Levy, chairman of the CQC inspection team, said: “The inspection found that, overall, services at Nottingham University Hospitals Trust were good. We found some very good examples of care being delivered.”

The inspection team however found maintenance backlogs for clinical equipment and said it was “concerned that not all staff had undertaken their mandatory training”. It has informed the trust that it must make improvements in these areas.
