PERFORMANCE: NHS Bassetlaw is reporting a significant increase in emergency admissions.
Latest board papers state that during February there were 3,409 emergency bed days against a monthly target of 3,531. Cumulatively, there have been 42,115 emergency bed days against a target of 38,841 in 2010-11.
This is due to the increase in emergency admissions, in significant excess of anticipated levels.
Performance on A&E waits moved above target in March, following a difficult winter in which the 98 per cent target was achieved just 18 per cent of the time. During the same period in 2009-10 the target was achieved 64 per cent of the time.
