PERFORMANCE: Birmingham Community Healthcare received a £56,000 penalty for non-compliance with a Commissioning for Quality and Innovation target.

The trust had a 94 per cent compliance with its CQUIN target for the year.

Board papers for April say the penalty was for non compliance against a target on health visiting services.

The penalty was a “significant improvement against the previously reported forecast risk which at one point totalled £500,000”.

“However, any underperformance is deemed a failure and as such the service and corporate teams have completed a root cause analysis of the issues encountered in year and have taken these findings into consideration as part of the 2012/13 CQUIN development process.”
