STRUCTURE: Heatherwood and Wexham Park Foundation Trust is to restructured its executive committees in an attempt to strengthen accountability for financial and service performance.

Papers for the trust’s December board meeting set out the proposals.

The trust plans to establish dedicated “executive sessions” on “service and quality” and “finance and performance”, and to introduce a “financial recovery group”, which will report to a new “finance and business development committee”.

The latter measure is intended to allow greater scrutiny of service transformation and cost improvement plan projects.

A “professional executive committee” will sit alongside the trust’s executive board and its nursing and midwifery group. The committee will provide “clinical leadership and strategic vision to the trust”, and “oversee the development of clinical strategy”.
