PERFORMANCE: Almost half of cancer patients at Gloucestershire Hospitals Foundation Trust thought there were not always enough nurses on duty, according to the results of the National Cancer Patient Experience survey.

Of the 1,094 patients who returned the survey only 56 per cent thought there were always or nearly always enough nurses on duty, putting the trust in lowest 20 per cent nationally.

Overall, 82 per cent of patients rated their care as excellent or very good.

Local GPs were in the highest 20 per cent nationally for patients feeling practice staff had done everything they could to support them through their illness.
