Simon Carpenter from Avon health promotion services holds one of the residents of the newly enlarged pond in the nature reserve at Bristol's Frenchay Hospital.

The work was paid for by a grant from Gloucester-shire council and Wessex Water and will provide an improved habitat for wildlife and an important resource for staff, patients and visitors. The reserve was established 12 years ago and provides the hospital with a link to Frenchay Common and the Frome Valley.
