Royal College of Nursing staff are being advised by their union Apex to accept a revised pay offer of 4. 8 per cent following a dispute over changes to their pay formula. Apex is recommending that the 700 staff agree to the uplift, though the existing pay formula would have meant a rise of 5. 7 per cent. Spokesperson Kevin McNerney said a new partnership forum to negotiate future pay and conditions at the RCN could bring an end to the recent 'debacle'. The pay formula will be reviewed in negotiations over the summer.
