A campaign has been launched, led by the Long-Term Medical Conditions Alliance, to put patients centre-stage in the New NHS. People's Voice for Health (pv4h) argues that the NHS plan was 'a step in the right direction'. But it now wants a commitment to a comprehensive service, involving the people who use it, making the 'patient-centred NHS a reality'.

Individuals and health service organisations are encouraged to join Unison in signing up. The LMCA estimates that about a third of the population has some sort of long-term medical condition 'and many people have to live with more than one'.
