Reflects action:35 Filipino nurses working in three UK nursing homes were rescued in a 'raid'carried out last Friday by Unison after they were allegedly enslaved by illegal contracts.

According to a Channel Four News investigation, many had been brought into the country and forced to take out£2,000 loans to pay for gas and electricity two years in advance. They had also been threatened with the loss of their jobs and deportation if they did not comply with their contracts.

The nurses are expected to be given jobs within the NHS.
